she/her

I am a Registered Counselling Therapist Candidate licensed with the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists, with a strong background in both psychology and human resources.

I hold a major in Psychology and minor Human Resource Management from Saint Mary’s University, where I also studied at the Sobeys School of Business. I went on to complete my master’s in counselling psychology at Yorkville University, where I gained comprehensive training in therapeutic techniques, client-centred care and trauma-informed practices.

As a dedicated registered counselling therapist, I bring a deep passion for helping individuals, families, teens, and couples navigate life’s challenges. My work focuses on chronic and complex trauma, PTSD, relationship issues, depression, anxiety, and recovery from sexual and domestic abuse. I use a blend of Cognitive-Based Therapy, Solutions-Focused Therapy and Client-Centred Therapy, while remaining open to other tailored approaches that best support my clients’ needs.

As a Black woman and immigrant to Halifax since 2015, I am uniquely attuned to the challenges faced by individuals from marginalized communities. My own journey has shaped my understanding and deepened my empathy, allowing me to create a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can explore their experiences and begin their healing journey.

In addition, as an assessor in training for Impact of Race and Culture Assessments (IRCAs) for African Nova Scotians, I am committed to addressing the cultural and racial factors that influence mental health and well-being. I believe that healing begins with understanding and compassion. My goal is to meet clients wherever they are in life and help them move forward in a way that makes the rest of their journey more fulfilling. I am committed to continuous learning and professional growth, ensuring that I provide the highest quality of care to those I serve.

Outside of my work, I enjoy reading (particularly fiction and history), exploring new recipes and cooking for my family. I live in Halifax with my husband and son, and we cherish our time together as a family. Through both my professional work and personal life, I remain dedicated to supporting my community, advocating for racial and cultural understanding, and helping individuals heal and thrive. Everyone is welcome and I look forward to meeting you at your starting point.
